ZONALTA can help smooth the overwhelming ups with or without mixed features (both highs and lows at same time) of your mood with just one pill a day.
ZONALTA is a tablet formulation which contains endoxifen 8 mg as an active ingredient. It has been developed by Intas Pharmaceuticals Ltd, India in collaboration with Jina Pharmaceuticals, USA.
The exact mechanism by which ZONALTA (endoxifen) exerts its effects has not been established.
However, ZONALTA directly inhibits protein kinase C activity (which is increased in the manic phase of patients with bipolar I disorder) in the nervous system and subsequently helps to manage certain chemicals in the brain such as serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine that control your mood.
ZONALTA is indicated in adults for the short-term (acute) treatment of manic episode (ups) with or without mixed features (both highs and lows at the same time) that happen with bipolar I disorder.
Studies have shown that ZONALTA can:
- Improve overall manic symptoms with or without mixed features (both highs and lows at the same time)
- Reduce the overall severity of the condition. This was observed in clinical studies of 3 weeks duration.†
†Based on a specific research tool used by healthcare providers during clinical studies.
However, based on the other parameters, consult your healthcare provider to know ZONALTA's suitability for you.
Treatments like ZONALTA generally start working gradually and differ from patient to patient. ZONALTA helps you control the symptoms of manic episode (ups) with or without mixed features (both highs and lows at the same time) in bipolar I disorder.
